Artist Statement

I believe everyone has a creative urge, it could be for dancing, cooking, music, sports, whatever, mine is for creating visual art. It seems I need to create a pastel painting or draw on a regular basis or I get a bit irritable. Art has always been a challenge for me – to develop the skills and come up with ideas to put into visual form. I like to use animals as subjects, this must come from my previous career in veterinary medicine and understanding the importance of human/animal relationships.
